First 300 Games
At Edgetown Bowl, Woodstock, on October 30, 2007 two McHenry County USBC bowlers rolled their first 300 games. You might say that bowling 300 games isn’t that unusual anymore. But, we think it is especially when the two were bowling in league play on the same pair of lanes. Pictured on the right is Jerry Slack who has come very close many times. Jerry rolled his 300 the second game of competition. Not to be out done and keeping the evening competitive and exciting, Jeff Goudie rolled his 300 the third game of competition. Congratulations to each of the bowlers.

30 CLEAN AWARD REINSTATED
November 27, 2006

To all league secretaries:

Effective immediately, the 30 clean frame award offered by the local association is being put back into effect.

When one of your league members bowls a 30 clean series, he/she must let you know. A printout from the bowling center needs to be sent to the office for the award. There will be no local award sheet, the league printout from the center will serve as the award form.

The association is looking at other local awards that may go into effect in August 2007.

LEAGUE SECRETARIES REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AWARD FORMS

For the secretaries that are not sending in award forms, please be advised that awards processing is part of your function as a league secretary.

Chapter 4; USBC League Rules states the following.

Duties of the Secretary Page 40, Rule 102e, item #5

Be responsible for a record of the scores bowled by all team members and substitutes and report scores that are eligible for USBC, state and local association awards.
  1. Submit a completed award application within 20 days.
  2. Notify the local association manager or authorized representative within 48 hours of scores that are eligible for USBC honor score recognition.
League awards and honor scores are vital to the bowler’s information. Not only to the local association but also to the USBC.

As a league secretary, you are in a paid position. The members in your league are your responsibility. Please do not wait until the end of the year to process your awards.
